In a story today on the worldwide leader, Milton Bradley had this to say about himself and his reputation in baseball:
“If I was a musician, I’d be Kanye West. If I was in the NBA, I’d be Ron Artest,” the 31-year-old former Expo, Indian, Dodger, Athletic, Padre, Ranger and Cub said this week. “In baseball, they’ve got Milton Bradley. I’m that guy. You need people like me, so you can point your finger and go, ‘There goes the bad guy.”
I thought it was a subtle, yet effective dig at Bradley that the Associated Press felt the need to write all of his former teams in that first sentence, instead of just saying “former Cub.” I like that.
Frankly, to me, Milton is acting like a college dropout. Someone that thinks they are walking as Jesus, but all they really need is a new workout plan. He’s not far away from it all falling down. Maybe Milton will one day touch the sky, but for now, the Expos, Dodgers, Athletics, Padres, Rangers, and Cubs all think he’s pretty much a gold digger. My personal opinion? Milton needs to get a lot stronger in order to be a champion and to one day live the good life. Until then, I only see flashing lights and lack of bling for Milton because you can’t tell him anything. So he should watch out in Texas. In short, drive slow, homie.
