Week 11: Most _______ of the Week

Most Retarded Analyst Comment of the Week:

“Mike Sims-Walker is the receiver with three first names”
-Shannon Sharpe

Now I’m not going to broach the issue of ‘Walker’ as a first name. I’ll concede that this exists, as silly as it may be. But ‘SIMS’? Unless you’re playing ‘The Sims’…and happen to name someone ‘Sim’ in there…this is completely unacceptable. A retarded comment for an analyst of any kind to make. But for Shannon, I suppose, it’s just par for the course.

Coaches and the People Who Don’t Love Them – NFC West Edition

Posted in NFL on November 24th, 2009 by That's My Quarterback
The NFC West is like your shady, low-key hookup that you don’t tell your friends about. You might shoot her a text once in a while to keep the back-up rotation of sex possibilities open, you’ll always begrudgingly respond when she contacts you, and you’ll seek out her company only 7 to 8 deep in rum and cokes. But, you will not, under any circumstances, admit to this hook-up relationship to your friends or even to the girl herself. Why? I’ll tell you – because she kind of fucking sucks. She’s a bit overweight. Not by an extreme amount, but just enough to matter. The words “pleasantly plump” come to mind. She has a borderline obnoxious personality. She talks a bit too much and is a little too annoying to be considered cool and to be invited to hang out soberly. She has at least two depressing characteristics, such as getting emotional when drunk, being jobless, living at home, refusing to admit it when she’s wrong and/or being stupid, or something even more disgusting like lack of self-confidence. For all of these reasons, you hate this broad.

Coaches and the People Who Don’t Love Them – NFC East edition

In honor of the NFL’s first head coaching casualty (see below post) we thought we’d update you on the amount of hatred some fans have for the coaches of their favorite team. As VCD and I casually discussed Jauron’s termination, I was looking for funny pictures of him to post on this site*. A casual question spurned a thirty minute conversation. The question was this: “How many NFL coaches do you think DO NOT have ‘Fire (insert coach’s name)’ websites dedicated to them?”

*Quick sidebar: I was also looking for goofy Jay Cutler pictures after his awful five interception performance in San Francisco last Thursday. It turns out that there was a former world champion body builder also named Jay Cutler. Needless to say, I was not ready for this at 8 a.m. Friday morning, nursing a hangover and vulnerability.

Anyway, I thought I’d investigate. The following list represents the findings. We’ll go by division: First up, the NFC East.

Dick Jauron Got Fired, Ralph Wilson Needed a Proper Burial

Well, well, well. I guess this is youblogtowinthegame’s (referenced as YBTWTG in the future) first official post. It’s only fitting that it will chronicle the over-promotion (hey boss-man, where’s mine!) of one of the more mediocre coaches in NFL history. First, a history lesson.

Marky Mark versus Seattle’s Funky Bunch

I’m still not entirely convinced that

        and       Jim Mora Jr.
Mark Wahlberg                           Jim Mora Jr.

aren’t the same person.
